Hers Hair Loss Review 2026: Prices, Products and Terms

Hers shows a starting price beside every hair product, so you see a number before any assessment. Each is written as “Starting at $X*/mo” with an asterisk whose footnote did not appear in the page text we read, so treat them as floors. No separate consultation charge appeared on any Hers hair page we read.

Over-the-counter topical minoxidil

The entry point, and the only tier sold without a consultation. Hers describes the 2% solution as “FDA-approved to treat women’s hair loss,” and the foam as “an FDA-approved hair regrowth treatment for women.” Topical minoxidil sold this way is an FDA-approved over-the-counter drug product. The foam page also calls it “prescription strength and FDA approved for women’s use” — Hers’ own page describes it two ways, and both are printed as found.

Prescription oral minoxidil

A “Generic pill” at “Starting at $29/mo,” marked “Rx required” and dispensed from a 1.25mg strength. Oral minoxidil is approved for high blood pressure, so prescribing it for hair loss is an off-label use of a drug approved for something else. Hers’ page does not say whether this item is compounded, and makes no FDA-approval claim.

Prescription “Hair Blends” serums

“Hair Blends Serum” and “Hair Blends Postmeno Serum,” both at “Starting at $35*/mo.” These are compounded preparations in Hers’ own words: its January 2022 launch announcement described a topical spray combining “3% Finasteride and 6% Minoxidil” for women, made “through innovative compounding preparations.” Compounded drug products are not approved by the FDA, which does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed. Hers says the same: “Compounded drug products are not approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness, or quality by the FDA.” Finasteride has no FDA-approved indication for women.

Everything else

A “Biotin + Minoxidil Gummy,” a “Biotin + Minoxidil Chew” and “Hair Vitamins + Minoxidil” are listed at “Starting at $35*/mo” as prescription items, with no further regulatory description. Biotin Gummies are a dietary supplement, not an FDA-approved product, and the shampoo and conditioner sets are cosmetics, likewise not FDA-approved products. A “Hair Loss Kit” pairs a DHT shampoo with biotin gummies, with no price shown. Hers announced an oral spironolactone in 2022, but it was not on the shop page or at its own address today, so it is not treated here as a current option.

Hers is a consumer brand of Hims & Hers Health, Inc., a San Francisco company listed on the NYSE, whose FY2025 annual report calls “HERS” a trademark “of material importance to our business.”

The clinical gate sits in the terms rather than in marketing copy: “You will not be able to obtain a prescription product unless you have completed a consultation with one of the Providers.” You must also “review and agree to an informed consent regarding the use of telehealth.” The shop page carries the short version: “Prescription products require an online consultation with a healthcare provider who will determine if a prescription is appropriate.”

What the hair pages do not publish matters too: none names a dispensing pharmacy, a medical group or an individual clinician, so there is no way to tell which pharmacy fills an order. Disputes go to “binding and final arbitration” under California law. If that matters to you, ask in writing before the first renewal; our telehealth glossary explains the categories.

Where it works. Hers publishes no state list; the terms limit the service to people “located in states in which we offer the Service,” so confirm your state first. The age floor is “eighteen (18) years of age or older, or at least the age of majority” where higher.

Visit type. A platform-wide Hers FAQ says: “Depending on your state, treatment may be determined without a video visit.” No hair page we read says whether a live visit is required.

Shipping. The hair-care page says: “Your treatment will ship to you for free, if prescribed.” Two OTC items carry limits: the 5% foam “must be shipped by ground shipping only” and cannot go “to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, or military addresses,” and the 2% solution has military-address restrictions because of its alcohol content.

Follow-up. The most concrete part of the flow. The check-in page says: “Around week two, we’ll check in with you to make sure that everything is going smoothly and that your treatment is a good fit,” covering progress and side effects. After that: “You have unlimited, 24/7 access to your Care Team.” Use that message while you are still inside the first billing period.

Cancelling is self-serve: the terms say you “may cancel a subscription at any time in-app or through your online account under ‘My Subscriptions’.” Timing decides whether you are charged again: a subscription “will automatically renew for another subscription period unless you cancel at least two (2) days before the applicable renewal processing date.”

That window is narrower than it sounds, because renewals can land early: the terms say renewals and shipments “may be charged and/or shipped up to two (2) days early,” and that a first renewal “may be charged early to prevent any discontinuity in treatment.” Put the renewal date in a calendar with a reminder a few days ahead.

On money already paid: “We do not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods, although we may provide refunds on a case-by-case basis in our sole and absolute discretion.” No Hers page we read sets out a refund if a provider declines to treat you.

• Trustpilot (forhers.com): 3.3 out of 5, labeled “Average,” from 10,285 reviews, with 24% at one star. The profile’s own metric says Hers “replied to 99% of negative reviews, typically within one week.”
• App ratings: the “Hers: Women’s Healthcare” app shows 4.6 from 13K ratings on the App Store and 4.0 from 2.16K reviews on Google Play.
• BBB: the profile covers the corporate entity, Hims & Hers Inc., not the Hers brand alone. It is “Not Rated” — the BBB “does not have sufficient information to issue a rating on this business” — and lists 4,456 complaints in three years, 1,331 closed in the last twelve months, with accreditation since February 22, 2018.

One legal matter: on July 29, 2026 the FTC, joined by Utah and California, filed suit against Hims & Hers over privacy, billing and cancellation practices, including a claim that the company “made it difficult for consumers to cancel subscriptions”; those are allegations in a filed complaint that a court has yet to decide, and the case is pending.

Separately, an FDA warning letter dated September 9, 2025 to the “dba Hers” entity concerns compounded semaglutide, a weight-loss product, not hair care. We found no FDA or FTC action naming Hers’ hair-loss products. The site footer links to a LegitScript tool that returned no stored result for forhers.com.

Hers publishes one outcome figure. The company says “Over 90% of customer’s hair loss improved or stabilized with treatment,” attributed by Hers to “self-reported data from 2,846 customers after one year.” That is the company’s own survey of its customers, not a controlled trial, and it appears here as Hers’ claim; this page makes no representation about whether any product works or is safe.

On timing, Hers says you can “See progress in as little as 3-6 months.” Every product renews as a subscription, so budget for the plan running through that window.
