Upkeepwell

Editorial Policy

How Upkeepwell is funded, where our facts come from, and how we handle quotes, contradictions, dates and corrections.

How we are funded

Upkeepwell is funded by affiliate commissions: when a reader signs up with a company through a link on this site, that company or its network may pay us. Most of the programs we cover run such a program. What that money does not buy: no company pays to be reviewed, to receive a rating or to hold a position on a page, no company sees or approves a page before publication, and we accept no free or discounted products, services, trials or travel. Our pages are written to help a reader decide, so they lead with what a program does well; the prices, terms, gaps and public records are published either way.

Sources

Our primary sources are the company’s own published pages and public records: Better Business Bureau profiles, Trustpilot and similar platforms, FDA warning letters and databases, and state licensing records where accessible. We treat press releases as the company’s own statements, and we treat sponsored or affiliate “reviews” on other sites as marketing. Every review lists its sources with the date each was read.

No testing claims

We never say or imply that we have used, ordered, tried or personally experienced a product or service. Any sentence that would suggest otherwise is an error; report it and we will fix it.

Quoting and paraphrasing

Where a company’s exact wording matters (prices, refund terms, disclaimers), we quote it briefly and exactly. Where we calculate something ourselves (for example, a 12-month cost from a 21-day billing cycle), we label it “our calculation” and show the formula.

Contradictions and gaps

If two pages on a company’s site disagree, we print both and do not guess which is current. If a fact is not published, we say “not published” rather than estimate or fill the gap from a third party. Third-party figures we could not confirm are labeled as such. We do not speculate about why a company has not published something.

Review criteria

Every review summarizes what we found against the same six criteria described in How we review, and each finding is drawn from facts in the review, whose sources are listed on the page. We do not rate companies with numbers, grades or stars of our own, and we do not change findings for commercial reasons. Third-party ratings, such as BBB letter grades and Trustpilot stars, are reported as published, with the date we read them.

Health and safety language

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and we do not give dosing instructions. We state on every review that compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and we point readers to a licensed clinician. In men’s-health coverage we keep language clinical and neutral, and we report onset or duration figures only as the company’s own claims.

Dates, updates and corrections

Every page shows the date it was published and, when its content changes, the date it was updated. We never backdate a page. Reviews also show when their facts were checked, and each source lists the date we read it. We re-check reviews periodically and when readers report changes. Corrections are made on the page and noted. Contact: hello@upkeepwell.com.

Advertising

We do not currently run display advertising. If that changes, ads will be labeled and kept separate from editorial content.

Upkeepwell Editorial

Research & comparison team

Upkeepwell compares online health programs by reading what each company publishes (prices, terms, refund and pharmacy disclosures) and its public records. Every program is checked against the same six criteria, every fact on the page is sourced, and no company pays us for a review or a ranking.
