Ro Hair Loss Review 2026: Prices, FDA Status, Terms

This is what Ro does better than most: one public pricing page carries a monthly price for every hair-loss treatment, at each plan length, read September 18, 2026. None is a first-month teaser. Every plan includes free discreet shipping, unlimited messaging and free unlimited follow-ups.

Ro sells four hair-loss treatments and states the regulatory standing of each on its own pages. You can tell what a treatment is, and what the FDA has and has not approved it for, before you create an account.

• Oral finasteride — Ro’s “Generic name for Propecia.” Ro says: “Only oral finasteride (1 mg) is FDA-approved for male pattern baldness.”
• Topical minoxidil — generic Rogaine, which Ro calls an “FDA-approved hair loss treatment.”
• Oral minoxidil — generic Loniten. Ro says it “is not FDA approved for hair loss, but healthcare providers may prescribe it for hair loss at their discretion.”
• Ro Mane Spray, also called the Ro 3-in-1 Topical Spray — “finasteride, minoxidil, and tretinoin.” Ro’s label: “Compounded med. Not FDA-approved.”

Two of the four sit outside FDA approval for hair loss, and Ro says so itself. Oral minoxidil is an approved drug used off-label here; Ro’s page warns it “may cause serious side effects that impact the heart, including pericarditis, precardial effusion and tamponade.” That is Ro’s statement, and a provider decides whether it is suitable.

The Mane Spray is mixed by a compounding pharmacy. Medicines prepared that way are not approved by the FDA, because the agency does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before marketing. Ro says the same of topical finasteride, which is “commonly prescribed off-label and prepared by compounding pharmacies.”

On timing, Ro says “See results in as little as 3 months,” and describes visible improvement between three and six months (our paraphrase). Those are the company’s claims.

One limit is flagged plainly on the pricing page: “Finasteride is for male pattern hair loss in men only.” That covers the oral tablet and, by composition, the three-ingredient spray. Other options are not marked men-only.

Ro does run a women’s line. Its state-availability article names “Women’s Hair Loss” as a distinct offering when it lists what individual states restrict. A woman can be treated through Ro, which is not true of every program in this category.

What is missing is the price. The pricing page carries the four figures above and no separate line for the women’s offering, so a woman comparing costs will see her price inside the intake flow rather than on the public list.

Prescribing. A licensed provider reviews your answers and decides whether to prescribe. Ro’s consent to telehealth does not commit to one format: interactions may include “audio, video and/or asynchronous data communications, such as secure messaging and email.”

Pharmacy. The terms say a prescription may be filled by “Roman Health Pharmacy LLC or one of our partner pharmacies (collectively, the ‘Ro Pharmacy Network’),” and that prescriptions may move between network pharmacies “without notice.” Naming the dispensing pharmacy in the terms is useful, because you can look a named pharmacy up with your state board. The partner pharmacies are not listed.

Age. The terms say the services are “intended for use by you only if you are 18 years of age or over,” and separately flag that some services require 21 or over, without naming which.

Certification. On LegitScript’s own spotlight page, Ro co-founder Zachariah Reitano says: “It was important for us to become LegitScript-certified and a member of this select group.” That page gives no current certification number or date, and LegitScript’s lookup tool could not be queried on September 18, 2026, so treat this as Ro’s own account.

States. Ro’s help center says the service covers all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and that Ro does not operate outside the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Product availability is narrower than company availability. The article says 23 states restrict at least one offering, and lists them state by state without naming all 23 in the section we read. Alabama’s restricted list is “Ro Sparks (ED), Ro 3-in-1 Topical Spray, Women’s Hair Loss, Skin Care, Ro Body Compounded Semaglutide”; Mississippi’s is that list plus Ro Body. North Dakota restricts erectile-dysfunction treatment only. Oral finasteride and minoxidil are not named in either state’s list.

What the price covers. Ro’s hair-loss page lists a “100% online process,” “Free shipping in discreet packaging,” “Unlimited messaging with a provider” and “Free, unlimited follow-ups with your provider.” Follow-ups and messaging are where other programs often add a membership charge; here they are inside the monthly figure.

Why shipments are quarterly. Ro explains the three-month minimum in its own words: “it takes at least 3 months for treatment to have an effect,” daily use matters so you should not run out, and “it allows us to lower your final cost.” That shows up in the price table, where a longer commitment drops the monthly rate.

Two things Ro does not publish. Its FAQ lists “Is a video chat required?” and one on how quickly a provider reviews your history, but the answers were not retrievable. The visit format and review time for hair loss are unconfirmed; ask at intake if a live video visit matters.

Auto-renewal. Ro’s terms say: “Your payment method will be automatically charged at regular intervals as described during the checkout process for the applicable Subscription Services.” For hair loss, that interval is the plan length you chose.

When you have to cancel by. Ro’s general cancellation clause names no deadline. It lets you cancel “before the cancelation cutoff date as indicated to you at the time you purchase,” so the cutoff is whatever your checkout screen showed. A 48-hour figure does appear in Ro’s terms, but in a separate clause covering Ro Body, the weight-loss program, and we could not confirm the same 48 hours applies to hair-loss plans. Read the cutoff on your own checkout page and note the date.

Refunds. The default is no refund. The terms state that “ANY APPLICABLE FEES AND OTHER CHARGES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE IN WHOLE OR IN PART,” except where a return or refund policy says otherwise. Two refunds are automatic: Ro refunds you if “you are subsequently deemed unsuitable for treatment or we reject your treatment request,” and “you will automatically be refunded when a treatment request expires.” Ro says those “may take 5 business days or longer to process.”

So the money question is timing rather than paperwork: cancel before the cutoff shown at checkout and you avoid the next quarterly charge; cancel after it and the terms treat that charge as final.

• BBB — A+, a BBB Accredited Business accredited since 7/23/2018, file opened 6/25/2018. No total complaint count or aggregate review score appeared in the profile section we read.
• LegitScript — certification described in a founder quote on its spotlight page; current status not re-verified.

About two-thirds of Trustpilot reviewers give five stars and about a fifth give one. That split is common for subscription health services, and it is one more reason to note the cancellation cutoff at checkout.
